  • David Wynne-Finch

    Co-founder and Chairman

    David is passionate about dairy farming and cheese production. As co-founder of Mona Dairy he is building out the supply chain to drive dairy forward to a sustainable future for farmers, our soils and rural communities.

    He’s spent 17 years as a farmer/landowner and developed practices such as spring calving and share farming based on the New Zealand model. He’s bringing enthusiastic new entrant farmers into the sector and is on a journey to spread sustainable and regenerative dairy.

  • Ronald Akkerman

    Co-founder & CEO

    Ronald is an innovator, having spent more than 25 years in the sector he is a true dairy entrepreneur. He has co-developed multiple major businesses, is a strategic thinker and with his Dutch origins bridges UK and continental cheese production.

    Ronald co-founded Mona Dairy with David and leads the business as CEO, he is focused on building and growing a diverse and exceptional team to drive Mona Dairy forward and achieve our ambitious goals.

  • Steve Wright

    Chief Financial Officer

    Steve has been a qualified accountant for over 25 years. . For the last 20 years he has worked for a large logistics company in various industry sectors where he became the Head of Group Finance.

    Using his skills and experience, Steve will be working with the Senior Leadership team and building a strong finance team. He will be working closely with all areas of the business to implement and deliver an ERP system.

  • Ian Laing

    Head of Technical

    Ian is the master of technical in the dairy sector. He is a food scientist and has a 40 year career in food manufacturing, technical management and laboratory analysis.

    He’s a troubleshooter, a technical wizard providing design, build and operational implementation of ISO17025 accredited labs and he is Mona Dairy’s technical lead.

  • Erin Gunn

    Executive Assistant to the Board of Directors

    Fresh into the industry from a background in policing, Erin’s role is to anticipate and assist with the needs of the Board members.

    Her role can be completely multifaceted; managing schedules and communications of Executives, coordinating travel and accommodation, and preparing corporate documents to name a few things.

    Erin has a Law degree and prior to policing, she worked as a contracts specialist within the Leisure and Tourism industry.

  • James Stent

    Farmer Relationship Manager (North Wales and Cheshire)

    James has worked in agriculture for over fifteen years. He studied Agriculture at Harper Adams University, where he specialized in ruminant health and nutrition, before spending time working on dairy farms and feed lots in New Zealand and Australia.

    Now settled in Wales, James has spent many years as a herd manager and is currently a volunteer Coastguard Rescue Officer for HMCG in Abersoch.

    James has a keen interest in improving the sustainability of agriculture, and he’s looking forward to building long term relationships with producers across North Wales..

  • Rebecca Reed - Downes

    Farmer Relationship Manager (Mid and South Wales)

    Rebecca has been brought up in Agriculture and since graduating has worked within the industry.

    Being born and raised on a dairy farm and now living on a dairy farm, she brings a wealth of agricultural knowledge to the team..

    Rebecca is looking forward to working with existing and new farmers to build long term relationships in South & Mid Wales. Description goes here

  • Simon Offord

    Commercial Manager (Retail Sales)

    As a young man Simon worked in catering before swapping for a career in the cheese industry almost 30 years ago.

    He has covered all aspects of the industry from developing and running his own company to working on strategic sales development for some of the UK’s largest cheese producers.

    Simon’s role is to strategically review and develop the commercial and marketing team to maximise sales offering and growth but also to ensure the company’s values and standards are communicated to our suppliers and customers.

  • Rebecca Smith

    Marketing Manager

    Rebecca is responsible for developing, implementing and executing marketing plans across the entire business.

    With 15 years experience in both online and offline marketing within FMCG, automotive, manufacturing and technology companies, she is experienced in integrating and delivering multi-channel campaigns that deliver results.

    She has a strong background within the equine industry and a keen interest in the agricultural sector, and is looking forward to working with direct suppliers and retail customers to promote the Mona Dairy brand.

  • Damien Williams

    Facilities & HS Manager

    After an extensive career in Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Damien changed direction into Facilities Management, Health & Safety and Legal Compliance.

    Passionate about environmental management and sustainability, Damien is the longest serving member of the team, having worked on the project as the Principal Contractor since the first day of construction on site.

    Prior to Mona Dairy he had been a Contractor Manager and QSHE Manager for some of the largest UK companies within the aviation and FMCG industries.

  • Sarah Croud

    HR Manager

    Sarah has 20 years food industry experience within large manufacturing facilities and is the lead on HR across the business.

    Her role is to promote a culture of the right values and to build a team where people can grow in an environment where they’re supported and encouraged. She supports the well-being of all staff to ensure each employee has a great experience with Mona Dairy.

    Passionate about providing job opportunities for young people in the area, she is keen to drive initiatives that support youngsters to secure employment within food manufacturing.

  • Terry Hughes

    Electrical Project Engineer

    Terry has worked globally for internationally recognised household brands in various roles from apprentice to projects engineer.

    As an independent electrical projects engineer with over 30 years experience within the food manufacturing industry, Terry works across the entire site implementing all electrical works associated with the construction and commissioning of Mona Dairy.

  • Richard Jones

    Multi-skilled Engineer

    Richard has 20+ years within the manufacturing sector in a number of roles including operating extrusion and mixing equipment, and operator and supervisor of mixing and maintenance departments.

    He is currently assisting with the installation of the plant and Preventative Maintenance system within the engineering team.

  • Dylan Roberts

    Multi-skilled Engineer

    Dylan completed his apprenticeship in electrical and mechanical engineering at a plastics factory over 17 years ago.

    He currently works within the engineering team assisting with the installation of the plant. He is looking forward to future opportunities and challenges within his role and to continue to contribute to the team.
